The Multisensor Systems and Robotics (SiMuR) group focuses its activity on the design and characterization of wearable multisensor systems to estimate in real time human-motion variables that no single instrument can provide on its own. The goal is to improve the impact of sensor fusion technologies in the fields where human movement matters most by building safer, more natural and more collaborative interfaces.
The group pursue technological progress through the development of sensing hardware, signal-processing methods and estimation algorithms that make human movement measurable outside the laboratory. The goal is turning low-cost inertial and wearable signals into trustworthy kinematic, biomechanical and physiological information, and transferring it to real settings: sport, the workplace, the clinic and collaborative robotics. Because objective, continuous and unobtrusive monitoring improves performance, prevents injury, supports diagnosis and enables safe human-machine interaction.
